Bed Bug Preparation Checklist
Preparation Instructions
- All clothes, linens, bedding materials, stuffed animals, etc., should be put in dryer (Commercial Dryer) for a minimum of 45 minutes on the highest heat available, then place in garbage bags and tied like a balloon or store in a clear plastic bag or tote.
- All clothing items that cannot be laundered must be dry-cleaned. We recommend leaving these items at the cleaners between the initial treatment and follow-up visit.
- Remove all items from closets, including on closets shelves. Follow the procedure above for laundering all clothing.
- Remove all items from dressers, night stands, chests, etc. and place them in a clear plastic bags or sealed tote.
- If possible, vacuum floors, carpets and area rugs. Use the crack and crevice attachment around baseboards, bedframes, sofas and other furniture items. Discard vacuum bags or contents after use.
- All luggage that has been used recently during travel must remain empty so it may be inspected and treated if necessary.
- All Mattress and box spring covers and linens must be removed prior to our arrival unless you have previously installed and encasement that was specifically designed to prevent or eliminate bed bugs.
- All large pieces of furniture must be pulled at least 2 feet away from the baseboards in rooms.
- Shoes should be placed in clear plastic bags or container. If shoes can tolerate a dryer cycle, first place them in the dryer on hottest cycle for 30 minutes before placing in clear plastic bags or tote.
- We recommend that face plates in the problem areas need to be removed.
- Fish and reptile tanks must be covered or removed. Air filters and filtration systems for aquatic fish should be turned off during treatment.
After Treatment:
- We recommend that you abstain from moving furniture, shampooing or steaming any soft surfaces in your home, including carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and draperies until last treatment has been completed.
- You may vacuum as needed, change the bag in the vacuum after each time you use the vacuum cleaner. If your vacuum is bagless, empty the canister after each use, double-bag the contents, and discard them outside the home as soon as possible.
- Birds, cats, dogs, and humans must remain out of the home during treatment and at least a
minimum of 6 hours after the treatment is completed. Persons who are pregnant or who have breathing problems must be out of the home for 24-hours.
AFTER THE TREATMENT IT IS MANDATORY TO STAY AND SLEEP IN YOUR TARGET ROOMS IN ORDER FOR THE TREATMENT TO BE EFFECTIVE.

IN ADDITIONAL:
AFTER THE TREATMENT IT IS MANDATORY TO STAY AND SLEEP IN YOUR RESIDENCE IN ORDER FOR THE TREATMENT TO BE EFFECTIVE.
BED BUGS ARE ATTRACTED TO THE CARBON DIOXIDE THAT YOU EXHALE AND ARE CAPABLE OF CRAWLING DOWN A HALLWAY IN SEARCH OF IT. SLEEPING/SITTING IN THE TREATED AREAS WILL ATTRACT THEM TO THE PESTICIDE WHICH WILL KILL THEM (but not harmful to you when dry).
